Open air burning in the Township of Uxbridge is regulated through the Fire By-law. Before burning, you must have an approved permit and call the Fire Department's 'Burn Line' at 905-852-9038 to find out if burning is permitted in the Township.
The Fire Permit is valid until the end of the calendar year in which it is issued.
Oversized Fire Permits can be obtained by calling 905-852-3393 or by visitng the Fire Department located at 301 Brock Street West.
A 3% service fee is charged on all transactions.
A transaction fee of $0.20 is charged on all transactions.

OPEN AIRShall not exceed 1.5 metres in diameter at any time. Shall not be less than fifteen (15) metres distance from any property lines, building, structure, hedge, fence, vehicular roadway of any kind or from overhead wiring. Two (2) persons shall be in attendance at all times. Materials permitted to be burned: Yard waste, wood, and brush. Must be extinguished before sunset.
RECREATIONALShall not exceed .75 metres in diameter at any time. Shall not be less than nine (9) metres distance from any property lines, building, structure, hedge, fence, vehicular roadway or from overhead wiring. Two (2) persons shall be in attendance at all times. Materials permitted to be burned: Wood, twigs or charcoal.
PLEASE NOTE: The purchase of an Open Air Fire Permit includes a Recreational Fire Permit. You do not need to purchase both.
